Machining fixtures are used as work holding devices in machine tools. Machining fixtures ensure:
- Required accuracy in the part
- High speed machining
- Reduced operator dependency during machining
All the above factors contribute to maximum utilization of machine capabilities.
Also, machining fixtures are an integral part of component production system.
Segmentation of machining fixtures
Fixtures for 5 axis or other special machines: These are used to produce special parts like turbine blades
Fixtures for 4 axis machines (VMC): These are used to finish parts in a single setup to save time and achieve high accuracy. Typically, parts like hydraulic manifolds are produced using these fixtures.
Fixtures for 3 axis machines (VMC): These are used to produce parts in a sequential manner where a single setup or a combination of setups may be used to produce a part. Typically, parts like rocker arms are produced using these fixtures.
Fixtures for HMC machines: These are used to produce heavier parts by taking advantage of machine pallet indexing capability. Typically, parts like gear box housing are produced using these fixtures.
We have developed fixtures for all the categories noted above. Following videos are testament to our capabilities
